Well caught a few good cats on Santee. One really good fish was the 42 lbs Flathead.

Nice... I would post that picture of the one and only catfish I ever caught, but... that would be rather embarrassing compared to that! lol

We'll try Monticello again one of these days and then you'll have a big story too.

I fished Lake Whelchel today for a few hours. I was bass fishing using crankbaits and caught two catfish.

Man ... that's one big ole flathead ... those things look downright prehistoric ... and kinda scary. My biggest cat ever was a 22 pound blue caught in a farm pond on light tackle. Zebco "snap shot" open face with 12lb test Stren monofilament, mounted to an 8ft. long carbon/graphite worm rod. One helluva good fight!

Blues hit hard and fast which is why I rather fish for them over bass.

Yeah man, I was pullin a crank bait when she hit it ... must have drug it past her bed ... she hit it HARD. I thought I had a bass at first untill she rolled over on top water. It took about twenty minutes to coax her to the bank where I could get her into the net.

I haven't been fishing in sometime now but I plan on starting back soon. I'm was supposed to go Sunday night with a guy from work but since dad has a doctors appointment Monday at 9am its not going to happen.
