It's sleeting here now (8:54PM), and has been on and off all day. I haven't seen any snow out here. I believe there is a possibility of percipitation forcast next week around Christmas Eve, but it probably won't be cold enough to give us a white Christmas. I always hope for one though...

It is a cold and wet Saturday morning. My husband took our daughter to work he said town got more than we did. He said the roads seem fine but you cant tell with black ice. It is very cold at 7 am.

Drove 12 miles to work no ice on any of the roads south of Gaffney. I85 towards Chesnee were bad last night when I took my wife to work. Trees are iced over here at work but the roads are fine. The bridge over Pacolet River in Pacolet was fine also.

Lucky folks in parts of NC got 24 inches. And it's only December! I'm thinking it might be an interesting winter.

We got about 4 inches of a mixture of snow and sleet. Then we got a small glazing of freezing rain over that. Alot of it is still in the yard.

Maybe a little snow Thursday. As frozen as the ground is, if it does snow it should stick... Our farm pond is about 3/4 frozen over. I haven't seen it frozen in many years, since I was a kid actually.

From the research I have seen, global warming could cause more severe winters in certain regions. I mean, it's kinda hard to fudge recorded temperatures, so the point is, global warming is an absolute unquestionable fact. And so is global cooling... Therefore, since global warming (and cooling) are facts, the question is, are humans in any way responsible? I've seen research that points both ways on that, and honestly I don't know. I'm not God. However, I don't think it would hurt any to take better care of the planet by creating less pollution. Even if there is no effect on global temperatures, I am absolutely convinced that pollution is a contributor to human illness, asthma and other breathing difficulties for example, or illness resulting from water pollution down the water table from coal mining operations. Those are just a few examples. I could also get into pesticide pollution, and the dangers that seems to be causing (especially for beneficial insects, such as honeybees), but, this is a thread about snow... lol...
