I have heard of facebook causing riffs in families, family members turning against other family members, and Etc.
To me, it is just not worth the risk.......all kinds of risks. And whether people know it or not, they are probably being watched by some authorities. You would never know.
I know it is not safe for kids...and I would not let my children be members, if I had any at home. The age is supposed to be 13, I believe I heard were the rules, which are being broken every day by parents not following the rules. I don't even like the idea of teens being on it, even though you have complete trust in your teen, it's the others you should be eerie of. Just look at the trouble Facebook has caused with teens and bullying.
I call it the "Mark of the Beast". It's the hugest thing to be so world widespread since the internet. Please don't get affended....that is just my feelings about it. You can freely disagree.
Facebook was even established .......causing an argument between 2 or 3 people from a university....each one stating that they were the first ones to come up with the idea for Facebook...., one stealing the credit from the other....

Facebook can be full of the list below, and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference until it is too late. Just remember, Those people are experts at what they do!
Murderers can exists among Facebook!
Perverts can roam around in Facebook!
Kid-nappers, no doubt, can be on the prowl in the Facebook....
People looking to steal your identity are definitely on the prowl in facebook!
Enemies from a person's past, are apt to be in Facebook.....
Why do I think that all these people would be in facebook?
Because everyone knows that it is the best place where 3/4 of the people in the world are a member, and the best place in the world to find whatever and whoever they are in the market for.
Just beware! People who are members in your account as friends, may be letting other people use their password and whatever else is needed to get into your account.....I know that has happened. You can't always trust people who you THINK are friends in your account. Even if you know that friend who is letting people look into your account, that same friend may not know who can be trusted that she or he lets use their password or whatever is needed to get into your Facebook account.
Hope that makes sense, because it is something to think about.
For me, I'd rather be "safe than sorry".....rather than being "sorry that I wasn't safer."
