I will hopefully be hunting some this year at least more than last year. I need some meat in my freezer plus I'd like to put a coyote on the ground this year.

I wouldn't mind having a nice pair of coyote fur gloves and cap myself, lol.

I know they are there so it just a matter finding them. I need at least one good deer this year.

Two nights this week I have heard coyotes yelping down the hill from my house, and have found droppings in several places on my driveway, and in the woods... I'm starting to get a bit nervous that they might attack my dog, or the other animals.

I understand that I'm afraid to let my dogs out at night unless I go out with them with gun there is something growling or rather roaring in my woods at night . It's a little nerve racking not knowing what it is but it sounds like a big cat roar and growl.

My grandfather and I saw a cougar here on our farm (about where my house sits, actually) back when I was a kid, probably about 25 years ago.

I'm not to concerned with the critters in the woods but the coyotes howl will give you goosebumps.

But you're knocking those coyotes off one by one aren't you RR?
Hope so, because they are creepy and plentiful.

I haven't ahd a chance to hunt this year which sucks to me. My truck died back in May so I really don't have a way to haul a deer anyways.

Ok all of you hunters and woodsmen, be on the lookout for ANY animal that acts strange-like it might be sick. We have an unusual amount of rabies in the county. Raccoons are suspect, as a boy in a crowded neighborhood was bitten on his finger by a raccoon that just walked up to him and bit him. The raccoon tested positive for rabies. The number of rabies cases has been reported to be up over last year so be careful. If you have an encounter with a suspectedly sick animal and you are bitten, clean the wound with soap and water and go directly to your doctor or health facility and also report the incident to CDC. Rabies is fatal to you if you don't seek medical attention within a short period of time.
