Paramedic, A friend of mine was arrested on Thanksgiving for driving while suspended, and without insurance. (Although he has a witness who claims he never left private property - the Homestead hotel parking lot, where he was arrested; he lives at the hotel). He is still in jail, going on two weeks, and has YET to go before a judge! And the guards at the Sheriff's Department have thus far REFUSED to tell him when he will go before a judge, and have ignored his requests for a hearing! Also, no lawyer has been provided for him. What in God's name happened to innocent until proven guilty, or the right to an attorney?? I tried to bail him out, but the bondswoman said she was too nervous to do it because he lives in a hotel, and is not originally from here (he's lived here for nearly two years). So basically, he is serving his sentence before having a trial or being convicted, and has had no legal representation whatsoever (not to mention the loss of his job, which has the effect of making him homeless whenever he is finally released).

Jack, PM me a name on him, and I'll do some checking and see if I can help. Also, see if you can find out who is the arresting officer.
