Paramedic, Friend of mine finally went before a judge today, and was released. When he got back to his room at the Homestead though, someone had stolen some of his stuff, including his XBox 360. The officer that arrested him had not allowed him to walk over and shut his room door.
It'll all work out in the end though...

Was the officer City, County, or State? I cannot speak for the other officer's actions, but I personally would have went and secured his door for him, as long as it was feasible and safe to do so. SOME officers forget to use compassion and respect. I would not have allowed HIM to do it, due to officer safety. Did he do a report in regards to the stolen items? During his traffic stop, the in car video will display whether he was or was not on private property. DUS must be charged when the offender is on a public roadway. As far as DUI goes, a person could lawfully be charged IF they are materially and appreciably impaired on a lawn mower cutting grass in their own yard, or if riding a moped. DUI can be charged on private property, no matter the place or circumstances.

The arresting officer was County. No, he did not do a police report on the stolen items. I don't think he wants any futher contact with the law, lol... As far as the DUS goes, the judge released him early in exchange for a guilty plea... After sitting in jail for three weeks, I would have been tempted to plead out too, guilty or not.

Unfortunately, his place of residence is at a lodge that is known for high levels of drugs and prostitution. So, the police frequent there alot.

Yeah, I know there's some rough folks living there. But he has an arrangement with the owners/management, where he does some work for them in exchange for really cheap rent. And he's single, so he doesn't really need a house or apartment.
