RaccoonGrey FoxBlack BearAnother Black BearThe only mink I've ever seen in the wild.American AlligatorBald EagleI took all these pictures myself and I have about 16500 more 35mm prints in boxes here at the house. I've seen more critters than most because I get out there where they live. I've risked my life several times to get pictures. I've been within 40 feet of a black bear in the wild. I've even caught a few alligators in my day not that I recommend doing that. I've studied mammals since I was 12 years-old and have several reference books to refer back to when I'm in doubt. I don't like being wrong thats why I own these books and have studied so much. As soon as it warms enough for the groundhogs to be more active I'll post some pictures of them. Beaver on the other hand only shots I've been able to get of them are head shots as they swim across the river/lake while I'm fishing.

This is the only large cat species ever documented in the Carolina's since the pilgrams came to America. There has been no proof of them being alive in the wild in South Carolina since 1914. Many claims but no actual proof.

Are BobCats not considered to be a "large cat" species? I know that bobcats are plentiful here in the upstate and have been reported to weigh in at over 25lbs ... that's a dang big "cat" in my book.
Great pics!
I saw a huge red tail hawk swoop and grab what looked like a small rabbitt this morning on my way to work. She/he was there where hwy129 crosses I85 ... I saw it come out of a glide and into the dive and the resultant catch ... Way cool ... If'n I hadn't been doing 78mph in the hammer lane I would have stopped to get a pic.

Great pics RR. I have yet to get any pics of the wildlife up here in Campobello, but I've got the camera ready. Based on the dead stuff I've seen around here, it is as close to me as my mailbox as to the availability of stuff to see. There is a cave on the road to Glassy Mtn. Bap. Church and I'm told that's where the black bear around here hang out. That's only 5-6 miles from my door. Wild turkey on the road behind my house. Saw a groundhog going across the horse stables pasture in the last 2 weeks. See hawks almost daily. One coyote seen dead on the side of the road by my neighbor. Not seen any big cats or even heard of any around here. Don't really want to run into a bobcat. I used to go camping with my family down around Union, Greenwood, Cross Keys and saw one of the biggest deer ever. He was brown, mostly gray with an enormous rack on his head, it was dark and we were going down thru Union and this deer was crossing the road. Caught a glimpse of his head tilted back with that heavy rack on it. No telling how many points it had. When we went camping, I remember an instance of hearing, what I was told, a bobcat hollering. That's one weird noise and it was closer that I wanted it to be. Didn't sleep the rest of that night. I know that there are deer very close to my house. We bought this house two years ago this last Nov. and we were putting the mail box up at the place provided on the road behind our house. At the end of my driveway was a pile of deer droppings. More folks bought the houses on either side of us since then and the deer may be taking a different route since then. We like to sit on our porches at night when it's quiet. The silence is weird because there aren't even any streetlights and very little traffic especially after dark. Maybe I'll get lucky this spring and get some pics.
