I'll agree, Pinky. Within the boudaries set by law i think protesting is ok. but take that mess on Wall Street and even the one in Columbia on the State House grounds. What a freaking mess. The folks doing all that camping out and making messes should have to clean it up. i mean, if they have enough time on their hands to homestead the se places to get their point across, i think they should be held accountable for their messes. The better thing for all of them to do would be to get a job and go to work doing something, anything.

If someone is destroying public or private property, they can (and should be) charged for that crime. I don't agree with demonizing a whole group because of the actions of a few. I certainly respect everyone's constitutional right to protest, and any attempt by the government to curtail that by extra-legal maneuvers (such as Haley having protesters arrested who had committed no crime) is sickening to me, regardless of their political persuasion.
Let's also not forget that private property was destroyed at the Boston Tea Party. I'm not saying it was really right, but it sure sent a message!

Some people take advantage when someone gives them an inch, they take a mile. And then start to think they have the right to do anything they want.....and claim it is in the constitution, because they want it to be and don't bother to read it. That's the ones who mess it up for the ones who are protesting within the laws of the constitution.
There are always those kinds of people, intruding into everything a group tries to accomplish.

True and sad too that the wrong doers seem to get away with their stuff, have more rights than an honest person. See it all the time.

I was talking with the manager of a subsidized apartment community today. During the discussion she mentioned a resident offering to buy her something and the manager said something like "you don't have a job, you can't afford to buy me that". To which the resident responded "I get $600 a month in food stamps - I can't possibly eat that much."
(I do not kinow how large a family the resident was feeding on that amount. Most of the residents are young single women with 2 or 3 children.)

The thing about those "Obama phones," is that the program was originally started for land lines when Reagan was President, and was expanded to include cell phones when Bush Jr. was President. Obama had not a thing to do with it, except his administration promoted it and grew the number of users (like every other welfare program).
