"Left behind" when they were arrested? Of course! Their books, tents, food, and everything else was left when they were taken out of there. They obviously couldn't take it to jail with them!

a... so, you think the photos are normal quantities/type of debris when a group leaves a place quickly? Did you look at the photos?

Nope, I didn't look at photos. But I did read the article, and the article said that EVERYTHING was left behind when they were arrested, books, tents, food, etc., and I am quite sure that accounts for a great deal of the "30 tons." I also read that the LAPD roughed them up pretty good when they were making arrests. How does anyone who was not there know whether or not it was the LAPD that scattered trash everywhere while raiding the place?
And listen, I'm not necessarily saying I agree 100% with these protesters, but as long as they are peaceful, law-abiding, and not trespassing, I don't give a hairball's worth of crap WHAT they are protesting, in my book, they still have the RIGHT to do it. Which is exactly why the charges were dropped against the occupiers who were illegally arrested on orders of Nimrata Haley.

Bank robbers Anthony Prince and Luke Carroll decided it would be a good idea to post pictures of themselves with the money they had just stolen on Facebook... Needless to say, it wasn't hard for law enforcement officials to track them down. They are now serving five years in a high-security prison; a place where I think they might want to avoid making a stupid duckface.

Rioting, sit-ins, marches, ;D-take your pick and demonstrate any and everything. It'll take your focus off the bigger picture and that, my friends, is the expectation from the higher-ups.

Some things should cause riots. Unfortunately, they rarely do... The implementation of income taxes should have (as well as estate taxes). Loosing supposedly guaranteed Constitutional rights should cause riots. But most sheeple sit around their entire lives like an ostrich with its head in the sand. By the time they get ready to pull it out of the ground to look around, their heads will already be chopped off.
And it ain't just Obama. George W. completely IGNORED the Constitution when it got in his way. So did Bill Clinton. So did Bush Sr. So did the "great" Ronald Reagan. And so on...

Jack, you just named things of the greater picture that I was talking about. Also, never will there be another opportunity such as the one we've had for almost 4 years now to really stand for the rich heritage that we have had.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I believe that it is a right of anyone to protest in a peaceful, lawabiding way, obeying the littering laws, but not camping and pitching tents and trashing and leaving debris on the streets. Why should some be allowed to litter just bacause they have the right to protest something and others having to pay a large fine for littering all the time? The right to protest doesn't give them the right to abuse the other laws.
That's just my opinion. And if I were protesting something, I would be aware of those laws and obey them. There are some that protest just for the purpose of being disruptive.... to be out there to show off, thinking that they are allowed to break laws at will and encouraging disruption with police and getting attention, not for a real purpose that the others are there. Some just want attention and the adrenalin they receive from it. A chance to show off.
