Very familiar with the water wheel site Pinky. That's about the only place my hubbie will agree to visit without showing himself. He grew up in Sylva and the only time we travel is towards that place. All of my folks were from that area (Hot Springs). Some fond memories of going up there every summer when I was growing up. I've always thought that I'd like to live in Mill Springs if I ever moved back to the mountains. We can't always do what we'd like to do though and I guess that we're as close to that dream as we're gonna get. We are just 11 miles from the border between SC and NC. We have a beautiful view of the mountains from my house.
Fla. is a nice place to visit and I've been all over it. Don't think I'd like living there. For nostalgias' sake, I like to visit Charlestowne where I went on my honeymoon. Too, alot of the books I've read were ones from that long ago romantic era of the Civil War and the rich info available about that time, much of it about SC.

new washer is really noisy - wonder if this is normal.
Didn't know I'd have to go buy new detergent.

Have a good time, RR. I always enjoy going there. Used to get to go stay for free....when my kin were alive. Well, I still have a cousin living there, who used to own motels around there, don't know if she still does....he husband died also. Been a long time since we have been there, about 10 or l11 years. Got a card from her a couple of years ago. We used to stay at my aunts on the hill, overlooking Pigeon Forge...we could sit on the porch or yard and look out over at the hustle and bustle. Her house was located between the golf course on the hill, and the highway going through Pigeon Forge....hill overlooking the river. Had to turn at the Dollywood sign off the highway and go around the curve and her house was on the left...said Benson's Guest House. It probably doesn't now, even if it's still there. House is getting old. And Pigeon F. is now 3 times as big. Her daughter lives right behind some of the motels overlooking Pigeon Forge.
My Dad's old home place was where Dollywood is now, according to the family and his sisters and my Dad.
I didn't see your post, ele, when I started posting this. I looked around at the new washers when mine konked out and the prices were out of my range that I was willing to pay. So we went to the Scratch and Dent Warehouse and picked up a brand new one (just had a small dent) and it works good....I like it. But it is a little more noisey than my old one. Doesn't matter though, because it is on the built in back porch. Saved money and that makes me happy. I don't need anything fancy. Just as long as it does the job.

Apparently since it is "high efficiency' (but not one of those front loads) it has to have "HE" detergent. I didn't know that.
Went to see Titantic at the Chapman this afternoon & out to eat at Cribbs - always yummy!

Glad you like your new washer Ele. Tide He is a good detergent. I find that my clothes come out bright and clean, only use half a cap per large load and a double rinse.
