I'd say the plan worked, he got voted in again. They don't need to worry up there, Obama is Santa Claus and the easter bunny all rolled into one and i'm sure that all of them are taken care of and that all of their wants and needs are met. It'll take more than just those cell phones though.
Rant over!

My uncle in N.J. finally got power back, then the snow storm last night has knocked it out again...

That article doesn't end it for me. Sounds like "we said, they said" game to me.
Not giving any favor for union thugs but i'm saying that no one has mentioned possible worker's comp. laws and the possibility of alot of freakish accidents happening to workers not accustomed to work detail in a vastly different locale. Guys working in utilities are a hardy bunch and are conditioned to work in extremes but still, accidents will happen. To me, northern utilities may have been trying to minimize the possible accidents or at least have them covered. But, the event of maybe having to use outside help should have been foreseen because of the posted and televised threat of the hurricane. The necessary "ok's to use outside help" should have been in place to allow companies to come there before they left to go there.
JTA, my tongue was thoroughly inserted into my cheek on that last post. I have no good remarks to make about Obama or his followers. I absolutely mean't it as sarcasm.

I am sure that the utilities have mutual aid agreements in place since going to another area to helpout is expected. Workers Comp would normally cover the workers in other states. (There are a few monopolistic states where the state actually covers it and some companies are not licensed in all states - not sure how it would be handled in that situation.) From reading the news on the Union situation I suspect it was said but the person/persons saying it did not have the authority to make the decision - or what was said was misunderstood. Of course a utility worker being assaulted after working his 16 hour shift does not cause someone to help out ... www.app.com/viewart/20121113/NJNEWS18/311130048/Fla-utility-worker-attacked-NY-s-Long-Island?odyssey=nav|head
