The Gaffney Ledger is reporting that there are FIVE "new" restaurants coming to Floyd Baker Blvd. Two of those are not really new, they are Pete's and Aegean Pizza (moving from Cherokee Ave.), and the others are: Chick-fil-A (at Mimosa Drive), King Buffet (old Ryan's building), New Century Buffet (old Quincy's building).

I doubt the buffets will last very long.

From what I've learned the Aegean is really changing - it's got full service booths and tables, rooms available for parties, and will be serving alcoholic beverages. Already known for great food I imagine they will triple their business in this new location since they were already doing terrific business where they were. It'll be good to see a local restaurant do well against all the "chain"-food places.

I hate to see them start serving alcohol.

The Ledger also reported last week that construction is about to begin on a new 7 million dollar travel center which will include a McDonald's and another restaurant.

We ate the new Aegean Tuesday evening and it was still very good. They have a lot more business than they had in the old location. Plus the old location was worrisome sometimes.

I never ate at the old location. The new Pete's is looking nice.

It looks nice. I heard that they are gonna keep their temp location open as well.
