The Legislature is now in session, and the majority have wasted no time in showing why S.C. ranks last in the nation in pretty much everything. From The State: Senate Republicans Tuesday took aim at federal health reforms, unveiling surprise legislation they said is designed to send this message to the federal government: South Carolina is not bound by every law Congress passes. I was pretty sure that S.C. already tried this during the Nullification crises, and then of course secession. Anybody want to fight that war again? Anyway, the Senate has now debated this resolution (which has absolutely NO legal weight whatsoever) for two days. Instead of focusing on our states crumbling infrastructure, creating jobs, the budget deficit, improving education, reforming State government, or any other meaningful legislation, a few Republican Senators are stuck on this idea of giving the Federal government the finger. And, it is a meaningless concurrent resolution! Why, you may ask, do they not put it in bill form, give it three readings, and then vote on it, so that it would have legal weight and actually BE policy of the State of South Carolina? Well, because then, S.C. would loose all Federal benefits, including Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, Veterans benefits, highway funds, and all other Federal programs. And then, of course, they would loose their Senate seats! It is absolutely ridiculous the time and money they are wasting, only two days into the session.

Not only do we need term limits, but we need to limit the # of days the Legislature can meet.

When are we going to wake up and realize that all we the people have to do is vote their sorry a!@#& out of office!! I see so many people voting the same dumbies back in. I still can't figure out why? We need to quit voting Democrat and Republican and start voting for the Independent. If I'm not mistaken and please check to make sure, our first President George Washington warned about the dangers of political parties and that they could be our country's downfall. I believe that Thomas Jefferson said that the nation's banks would also endanger our country. A couple hundred years later. Wha laa!! These voters who keep voting them politicians in, I hope you are happy.

I've been a proponent of GRIP for a long time. GRIP - Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians.
We have have created a monster called the professional politician - someone who has never done anything, can't do anything, but think they know everything.
Term limits are just a start.
