the coyote population is growing in cherokee county. i have seen about a dozen in the last week. my son and i are looking for more places to hunt these varmits. we are responsible hunters that love the outdoors. if anyone knows of any land owners who want some coyotes taken care of let me know.

The SCDNR website has some good info and facts on coyotes if anyone is intersted in reading. i googled coyotes in s.c. and found it.

I'm currently looking to take out the ones on the land I hunt. They are pretty clever when it comes to trapping so shooting seems to be the best bet to rid the property of them.
coyotekiller what firearms are you two using?

What kind of calls are you using?
I have two mouth calls but I haven't used them much yet. I'm using a Savage 93 .17HMR, Ruger Mini 14 .223rem and a Remington 700 SPS Varmint .308 win. The Remington might not be the fastest but its nastiest for sure.

trying mouth calls for now until i save up for an electronic call. I seem to call in more foxes than coyotes , i was able to bring in 2 yotes and was able to get one of them. i only have a little spot in corinth to hunt and i dont want to pressure it much and ruin it. i have seen over a dozen within a mile radius of my house over the last month but the landowners around here will not even talk about letting a fellow hunt.

They run creeks pretty much so land with a few creeks should produce several good kills.

I have had good luck finding places to hunt coyotes the last couple of days. i am finding out that they are some folks out there that know that theses rascals are more of a problem than most think.
