Rain water. The chicks have all lived but my wife thinks most are roosters which is not good for us. I need to take a few picture when I remember to do so.

I'm afraid we're going to have to many roosters before to long. My wife knows a guy that wants some of them so that's good. I want a few more hens so the laying will continue.

I can just hear the racket they might be making!
Not chickens btw, but just when I thought that bluejays were becoming extinct, I heard a whole bunch of them in the woods across the road in front of my house. No kidding, all I've ever seen up here are blue birds, wrens, catbirds and one I haven't identified yet but it looks like a dove. Haven't even seen a cardinal yet. It just so happens that there is a cornfield right beside those woods. I know what bluejays will do to corn in the field. The "sheriff" put up my birdhouse a couple of weeks ago and I saw a bluebird flying into it yesterday for the first time. We also put up hummingbird feeders and i've only caught glimpse of one rather large hummingbird. What's the secret to getting them to come around more often, anyone? I bought the bird nectar and the instrs. say to change it out every two days. No luck doing that. Blue birds love our deck and play on it alot. The only other fowl i've seen alot of here is turkies and these characters just walk around all over the backroads up here-pretty.

We got rid of half our chickens yesterday. We had seven roosters so they had to go and she let several of the old chickens go with the guy.

Gave to a guy my wife knows. A snake was after the chicks Tuesday but the moma hen was attacking it.
